To raise funds for affordable housing, Durham Habitat organizes two cycling and running events through the streets of Downtown Durham and rural Durham County, culminating with a party at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. 

Habitat Bull Moon Ride and NEW 5k Run – July

Take a summer twilight tour of downtown Durham. Riders, runners and walkers meander past the unique sights of the Bull City, enjoying music along the route and returning on a quiet American Tobacco Trail to festivities at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The fun, quirky, spirit-raising event attracts family and casual riders and runners. Visit our website at www.riderunforhabitat.org.

Halloween Event - October

The Halloween event wanders the countryside of Durham and surrounding counties. Cyclists and runners of all abilities tackle one of the three routes and feast at famously stocked rest stops, returning to a party at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park acclaiming their accomplishment.

Raise the Roof fundraising

Habitat for Humanity of Durham's Bull Moon and Halloween Rides are fundraising events. Although donations are not required, contributions help HFHD build homes for families in Durham. Durham Habitat and our sponsors offer tokens of our appreciation for those who raise funds for our bike rides.
