Building Community and Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders
About
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe young people have the power to change the world, starting right here in Durham. Our new Teen Board provides 14- to 18-year-olds the opportunity to lead, connect, and advocate for change in their community. Members of the board will gain mentorship as they assist with youth builds, engagement, complete various projects, and provide perspective on decisions affecting volunteers. We’re looking for youth who bring creativity, curiosity, and innovation to volunteer service.
What You’ll Gain

What’s Expected of You as a Member
- Attend one monthly meeting
- Help plan upcoming Youth Build events
- Volunteerism: build homes, attend Youth Builds, lead new projects, assist with engagement
- Complete 6 volunteer hours each season
- Host fundraisers
As a Teen Board member, you and your peers will have the opportunity to further develop this program and lead new initiatives.
