Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Durham Habitat’s work! As a volunteer, you will be able to help with a variety of projects including painting, landscaping, framing, site cleanup, and other miscellaneous tasks. With your help more Durham families can access affordable homeownership! Let’s Get Started!

Attend Orientation

All new volunteers are required to attend an orientation before getting started. Orientation gives you an overview of Habitat for Humanity of Durham’s mission and programs, explains how to begin volunteering, and provides an opportunity to ask questions. Once you’ve completed orientation, you’ll be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities throughout the year — as often as you’d like. Volunteer orientation is held on the fourth Thursday of every month. Register for Orientation.

Already Attended Orientation?

Are you a regular individual volunteer or coming with a group? You can view all available volunteer dates and sign up for shifts directly through our calendar. Volunteer Calendar.

Community Service Inquiries: 

Please note, our location does not provide court-ordered community service hours. We encourage anyone seeking community service opportunities to visit the Habitat Restore: trianglerestores.org/volunteer or call 919-744-2425.
