There are several types of legacy gifts you can make to Durham Habitat, including:
Bequests: A bequest is a gift made in your will or trust. You can choose to leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to Durham Habitat. If you don’t have a will or an attorney, you can use freewill.com to create a will and make a bequest to Durham Habitat.
Retirement assets: You can name Durham Habitat as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA. This can provide tax benefits to you and support our mission.
Life insurance: You can name Durham Habitat as a beneficiary, or partial beneficiary, of your life insurance policy. This is a simple and effective way to support our work.
Charitable remainder trust: A charitable remainder trust allows you to receive income during your lifetime, with the remainder going to Durham Habitat after your passing.
Charitable gift annuity: A charitable gift annuity provides you with fixed payments during your lifetime, with the remainder going to Durham Habitat after your passing.
