Meet Antonia and Feliciano

Durham Habitat and the Duke Campus Chapter are very excited to partner with the Hernandez family to construct their new home! Antonia and Feliciano work hard together on site and are out every Saturday, even though their Sweat Equity is complete! They, along with their three children, are ecstatic to live in their own home.  Originally from Mexico, Feliciano and Antonia immigrated to the United States where they met and began their family. Now they want a place that their family can call home. With the purchase of their four bedroom house Antonia and Feliciano will begin to build wealth for their family rather than giving it away on rent.

Their children will also have a safe, warm, and stable place to call home which studies have shown will increase their grades in school, making it easier to get into college.

We are excited to be a part of their journey to homeownership! We invite you to join a Durham Habitat partnership. Click here to volunteer or donate! Click HERE to follow construction!

Habitat Success Stories

Growing up in East Durham, Tora saw the neighborhood decline and bounce back. She was excited to partner with the Streets at Southpoint and Belk to build and purchase her own home in East Durham -- making her part of the neighborhood's revitalization.
