You can always check our inclement weather page for updates and call the hotline if you have questions. We will proactively call you if your volunteer shift is cancelled or changed for any reason.


We are actively monitoring Hurricane Dorian and preparing for its arrival here in NC. Once we have a sense of Dorian's impact on Durham and our neighboring communities - including volunteer needs ways to support the relief efforts, here in Durham and/or at other Habitat affiliates - we'll update that information here.

If you or someone you know is displaced by the storm, the "Discover Durham" website has launched an Emergency Lodging Hotline, a public-facing database of hotels in Durham County that have rooms available. It serves as a quick digest and it will update daily.

Habitat Success Stories

Martha partnered with North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church to build and purchase a Habitat home for her and her two sons in East Durham. "God's got a plan," Martha said. "His timing is perfect."
