The Construction Site Supervisor in Training (CSiT) at Habitat for Humanity of Durham is a full-time role designed for individuals new to construction. Over a one to two-year training period, the CSiT will learn the skills necessary to transition into a Site Supervisor position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of home construction and remodeling, ensuring projects are completed on time, safely, and to quality standards.
• Lead, train, and motivate volunteers while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive build-site environment.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, staff, and homebuyers to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.
• Manage site logistics, including scheduling, inspections, materials, and equipment.
• Enforce safety protocols and complete necessary documentation to support efficient project operations.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of residential construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Supervising experience and strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.

Job Overview
Habitat for Humanity of Durham is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Warranty / Punch Supervisor to oversee post-construction warranty service, punch list completion, final home presentation, and exterior property readiness for residential homes.

The Warranty / Punch Supervisor is also responsible for performing advanced repairs, maintenance, and warranty work while coordinating and guiding staff, subcontractors, and volunteers on projects related to home completion, landscaping, property maintenance, and homeowner satisfaction. This role is critical to ensuring every home meets Habitat’s quality standards, is move-in ready, and reflects our commitment to providing safe, affordable housing.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and service new construction trucks, including inspections, preventative maintenance scheduling, and minor repairs.
• Diagnose and complete homeowner warranty repairs across a wide range of issues including interior, exterior, structural, and cosmetic concerns.
• Perform advanced interior and exterior painting, including walls, ceilings, trim, doors, railings, decks, porch ceilings, and crawl space doors.
• Perform a wide range of residential construction, maintenance, warranty, and skilled trade tasks including but not limited to drywall repair, trim work, caulking, punch-out repairs, landscaping, and other residential repair and maintenance activities.
• Conduct punch list repairs such as interior paint and caulk touch-ups, door and window adjustments, trim repairs and installations, blind installations, general home readiness and final quality inspections.
• Assess project needs, plan job scope, and procure necessary tools, materials, and supplies.
• Supervise volunteers, laborers, and support staff in landscaping and exterior finishing tasks, including topsoil spreading, mulching, shrub and tree planting, straw spreading, mailbox and house number installation, gutter extension placement, general site clean-up
• Conduct routine home maintenance tasks such as grass trimming, watering unsold homes, and property appearance upkeep.
• Ensure all work performed by staff, volunteers, and subcontractors meets Habitat’s quality, safety, and construction standards.
• Organize daily assignments to maximize efficiency and align manpower with project priorities.
• Frequently operate ladders, hand tools, power tools, and company vehicles safely and effectively.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of residential construction, warranty service, punch-out, maintenance, or related field experience
• Extensive hands-on experience in residential construction and maintenance, including but not limited to carpentry, drywall repair, painting, trim work, punch-out work, warranty repairs, basic landscaping, and general construction services.
• Strong ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of home repair and warranty issues
• Proven experience performing hands-on fieldwork while supervising volunteers and crews
• Residential construction experience with strong knowledge of quality standards, safety practices, and job site operations
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles and construction trucks
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and material planning skills
• Basic knowledge of construction scheduling, homeowner relations, and customer service
• Strong construction safety knowledge
• Proficient in the safe use of construction tools, equipment, and materials, including hand tools, power tools, ladders, and common residential building materials.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham seeks a Development & Fundraising Officer to serve as a member of our fundraising team and help drive growth in our annual giving and sponsorship programs. This role is part of a small, cross-functional team, working closely with Communications teams.

The Development & Fundraising Officer will provide leadership and initiative to develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, retain, and close gift relationships with assigned individuals, corporations, faith-based groups, and community organizations to meet a significant annual revenue goal. This is a relationship-forward role requiring strong public presence, excellent communication, and comfort with public speaking and presentations. The ideal candidate is a proactive fundraiser who enjoys meeting new people, telling compelling stories, and turning relationships into meaningful support for Habitat’s mission.

Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Donor Development

• Establish with the development team a systematic strategy to actively identify, cultivate, solicit, and close commitments from new and existing donors to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals.
• Manage an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors, moving them through the donor pipeline.
• Lead donor engagement efforts to retain, upgrade, and track annual giving supporters and sponsorship partners’ activities in the donor database/CRM.

Donor Solicitation & Relationship Management

• Work independently to conduct face-to-face visits, possible virtual meetings, and other relationship-building activities to secure assigned sponsorships and annual gifts.

Campaigns, Presentations & Communications Collaboration

• Create and execute, with the Communications Team, assigned solicitation campaigns (mail, email, virtual, website, presentations, proposals, etc.) to compassionately and effectively articulate the Habitat story.

Planning, Reporting & Operations

• Work with the Development Team to establish annual revenue goals for the budget; provide accurate and timely progress reports.

• Grant reporting + drafting narrative language with organizational leadership (proposals/renewals/funder communications)

Habitat for Humanity of Durham seeks a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to lead and manage all financial operations for our dynamic, mission-driven organization. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, audit preparation, and mortgage origination management, ensuring sound financial stewardship across our programs.

The Director of Finance will collaborate with teams across construction, homeowner services, and development to provide insightful financial guidance that supports decision-making and long-term planning.

The Director of Finance will also bring expertise in financial management software, specifically QuickBooks, to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis for various affiliate departments, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
• Lead the annual budget process, working closely with affiliate departments to develop departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.
• Understanding avenues of lending, non-profit funding, grants, leveraging of assets, financial forecasting, and capital funding.
• Successfully implement non-profit accounting principles across the organization.
• Prepare audit schedules and footnote disclosures for external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Controller and Accounting Assistant, providing leadership and ensuring efficient workflow and task management.

• Assist the President in the preparation of the Private Placement Memorandum for any upcoming financial initiatives.4

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with non-profit GAAP experience. CPA or CFA preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• 5 Years or more of experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
• Proven ability to manage complex financial processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
