Lexie Vaughn

Lexie has held senior leadership positions in the corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors around the world for 20 years. Accomplished in organizational leadership, strategy development and implementation, and community engagement, she has moved fluidly between borders throughout her career. Vaughn earned her MBA in General Management from the Kenan-Flagler School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a proud resident of Durham, NC.

Lakeisha Minor, Director of Family Services 

Lakeisha Williams

Lakeisha oversees the homeownership and repairs program. As a Business Major and Certified Housing Counselor, Lakeisha ushers Habitat partner families step-by-step through the homeownership and repairs process.   

As a homeowner herself, she is passionate about setting our families up for success through hands on learning and education. She and her husband, Harry, share their home with their two children.

Terri Hegeman, Director of Development

Terri is a seasoned fundraiser who joined Durham Habitat after 15 years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and, prior to that, at the Triangle United Way. She is eager to work closely with the community on behalf of Durham Habitat and the families we serve.

Valerie Thompson, Director of Finance

Valerie Thompson

Valerie joined Durham Habitat in November 2019.  She holds an undergraduate degree from North Carolina Central University and MBA from Pfeiffer University.  She has cultivated her professional career thru various Tax, Senior Management and Controller roles. Valerie is passionate about all things accounting and is excited to be a part of the well-respected Habitat team.

Habitat Success Stories

Theresia partnered with Habitat and twelve Durham congregations to renovate a historic home in East Durham. She became one of three Habitat families to renovate homes on her street, helping rebuild the neighborhood.
