Playhouse Teambuilding

*Featured Playhouse Build: 12 Tiny Playhouses = 1 Tiny Home

The Habitat Playhouse Program is a collaborative effort of local corporations, the community and Habitat volunteers to build and donate playhouses to local families and service organizations that work with children. Thanks to the support of NetAppBlue Cross and Blue Shield of North CarolinaGlaxoSmithKline and other Triangle corporations, the Playhouse Program has built over 100 playhouses and raised over $300,000, providing start-up capital for Durham Habitat’s affordable housing projects.

The Playhouse Program, led by Durham Habitat's self-named “Geezers," is designed to host groups of 12-18 for a 6-hour teambuilding session. With the added benefit of supporting local families, this is a great alternative to traditional teambuilding ropes course activities. Durham Habitat requires a $2,500 donation for each playhouse to offset the cost of building materials and to fund the construction of actual Habitat construction projects.
