Construction volunteers

We host construction volunteer opportunities on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays year-round. Duties may include, but are not limited to, deconstruction, crawlspace sealing, wall framing, roofing, siding, interior and exterior trim, painting, cleaning and landscaping. No tools, skills or experience is necessary.

Age requirements
General construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old, and volunteers must be at least 18 years old to climb above 6 feet and operate power tools. Click here for more information about Habitat volunteer opportunities for youth under 16.
Shifts
Two construction shifts are available:
8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Weather
Concerned about the weather? Please call (919) 682.0516, Ext 2. This weather line will be updated at least one hour in advance of volunteer shifts in the event of heavy rain or inclement weather.

Geezers
A self-named and dedicated group of retirees, the Habitat Geezers volunteer from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and then meet at a local restaurant for lunch every Thursday.

Site Hospitality
Help construction volunteers feel like a valuable part of the Habitat team. Welcome and support construction volunteers on the work site with purchased or handmade treats or meals.
