Casa - CASA is a non-profit affordable housing developer and property manager in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties in North Carolina. We provide supportive housing for people living with disabilities and workforce housing for people with low to moderate income. The provide permanent rental housing. They are not currently accepting applications, but have a mailing list for when they do open up again.

DCLT has both rental and home ownership programs.
DHIC - Since 1974, DHIC has demonstrated the importance of connecting people with safe, affordable, and desirable homes in the Triangle region of North Carolina. DHIC provides homebuyer support and develops rental communities for families and individuals with limited incomes. We understand that a home is a catalyst for opportunity, independence, and resilience.
Dorcas Ministries - Their Training Center provides volunteer coaches that can assist with job searching, resume writing, career advising, and basic computer training. A phone, fax, and computers with printers and an internet connection are available for your use. All services are free.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County - Similar to Durham Habitat, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County partners with families to create better, healthier, more financially stable lives. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better future for themselves and their families. HFHO works with families who are looking to purchase their own home.
Housing for New Hope - At Housing for New Hope, we open doors in both a figurative and literal way in people's lives. Through comprehensive and compassionate services, we support our clients - individuals and families - toward finding their own brighter tomorrow. Housing for New Hope aims to end homelessness in the city of Durham one valuable person at a time by empowering and assisting our clients in finding and maintaining housing - a front door to call their own. Housing for New Hope offers rental units.
Interfaith Counsel for Social Services - Housing is considered affordable when households spend less than 30 percent of their gross monthly income on shelter and utilities. Most IFC members can affordable to spend $231 - $605 on rent and utilities, which is well below market rate. IFC's housing support programs offer a combination of housing subsidy combined with varying levels of wrap-around support in order to help people get and keep housing in this community.
Reinvestment Partners - Reinvestment Partners' mission is to foster healthy and just communities by empowering people, improving places, and influencing policy. We address the problems of poverty and social injustice in the areas of food, housing, community development, health, and financial services. Reinvestment Partners is a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that offers clients industry experience, an expansive service area, and professional services. With two housing counselors on staff, we have over 20 years of combined experience and reach 43 of North Carolina’s 100 counties.
Step Up Durham - StepUp Durham offers FREE employment readiness training, personalized job coaching, employer referrals, and supportive services to job seekers, including those with barriers like a criminal background or gaps in work history. Job seekers enter StepUp through a 28-hour workshop that teaches the skills needed to find and sustain employment. The relationship is 50/50. StepUp uses its resources to connect job seekers to employers who trust StepUp, while participants execute the skills they have learned to further their own independent job search.
Triangle Family Services - Triangle Family Services is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, utilizing the Housing First model that centers on quickly moving people into independent and permanent housing, then providing additional support and services as needed. We help families through a unique combination of direct financial assistance, professional case management, financial education and connection to community resources.
Trosa - TROSA is a licensed innovative, multi-year residential therapeutic community. Each day, TROSA gives more than 500 male and female substance abusers the tools and support they need to be productive, recovering individuals by providing counseling/mentoring, work-based vocational training, education, and continuing care. We provide these services and housing, food, clothing, and personal care items to every resident at no charge.
