Durham Herald-Sun

Margare Allen and her great-grandson Tavion recently bought and moved into their Habitat home in Durham. Tavion, 6, proudly showed his friend Tavner Little his home, saying, "I love my new bedroom. It's got a blue wall and my windows open". Margare is very glad that Tavion has a quiet, safe place to do his homework.

Durham Habitat is now accepting applications for homeownership. Qualified applicants will be Durham residents with a need for affordable housing, a willingness to earn a minimum of 250 hours of sweat equity building their home, and an ability to make their Habitat mortgage payments, typically around $550 per month.
