We need women roofers

Posted |

The Women Roofers from Rutherfordton, NC, who were featured in People Magazine, will come to Durham on October 10th to help develop a core group of women to roof homes with Habitat of Durham. Their goal is to help Durham Habitat establish a core group who will be committed to roofing 6 to 8 new Habitat homes each year.

Check out this news clip to learn more about this crew of women who have been roofing together in North Carolina for over 10 years!

Join Durham Habitat’s fledgling crew of women roofers! Experience in roofing is not necessary. All you need is a willingness to work above the ground and a desire to build relationships with other construction volunteers!

If you are interested in joining and/or learning more please contact Jane Williams at janepsych1@mac.com or 336-577-8240.

Habitat Success Stories

Twenty years ago, Bob came to a Habitat construction site, and he's been volunteering since. "Framing is the fun part," Bob says, "but my favorite task is roofing." He also leads a youth group in making rain barrels for each Habitat home.
