Foundation Society

The Foundation Society is a leadership giving society whose members contribute at least $1,000 annually to Habitat for Humanity of Durham. Membership in the Foundation Society makes you an active partner in eradicating substandard housing in Durham and abroad.

Members support our neighbors who turn to Habitat for Humanity of Durham to build, purchase, and repair affordable homes.  Foundation Society members also enjoy the benefits of dynamic community recognition, access to special events, as well as select volunteer and donor opportunities.

How Foundation Society Funds are Used

Habitat for Humanity of Durham is a faith-based housing ministry that helps low-income neighbors build, purchase, and repair affordable housing in communities.  Financial contributions are used for the following:

  • start-up capital for new home construction projects
  • materials and labor for home repair projects
  • acquiring blighted, abandoned properties for rehab projects

In addition to finding safe and comfortable housing, families gain a network of support, establishing friendships with other families facing similar hardships and uncertainties. These families depend on the immediate help of Habitat for Humanity of Durham when it is most needed. There are over 35,000 Durham neighbors who live in substandard housing, and our waiting list grows every day.
