Concert to Benefit Durham Habitat

McMannen United Methodist Church will host the Men in Black all male chorus on Sunday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m. The concert is free, but a love offering will be taken to benefit Durham Habitat. Canned food donations are also appreciated, and will benefit Urban Ministries.

Men in Black was formed under the direction of Marlon E. West in Durham. 100 Men in Black is an independent, “community-based” male chorus with open membership to all within the Triangle community and surrounding areas. The group is composed of males, representative of all age groups, ethnicities and walks of life who love to sing and share the “good news of the gospel” through music.

Habitat Success Stories

Lal is a Burmese refugee who came to Durham after stops in India and Thailand. Lal partnered with Habitat and the Durham Literacy Center to renovate a historic home in East Durham. “There is no more fear,” Lal said. “We won’t have to move again because the home belongs to us.”
