Welcome to fall with Durham Habitat!
As youth in Durham head back to school, we are humbled to remember the more than 975 children impacted by Durham Habitat over the last 30+ years. Picture above are the children of volunteers, sponsors, and future homeowners working side-by-side during a recent Youth Build Saturday... one of the new and growing programs at Durham Habitat.
Lots of news to share as we launch into fall!  Below, you can watch our new video "Be a cornerstone"which was produced by interns from Trailblazer Studios, who generously donated their time and talent this summer (thank you!). Be sure to check our upcoming events list, and while you're on Facebook, tag yourself in the Bull Moon Ride and Run photos!
We also have a short feature about Durham Habitat's selection as the Triangle's Bank of America "Neighborhood Builder" for 2017-18 - we are grateful to be a part of this innovative program. Thank you Bank of America for your partnership and support.
Thanks for building community with Durham Habitat this fall!

Be a cornerstone with Durham Habitat
What did you do on your summer vacation? At Durham Habitat, we were busy building homes, hope and community all over the Bull City. "Be a cornerstone" captures some great moments from our work this summer and invites us all to get involved and become an advocate for affordable housing in our community. Enjoy, and share with a friend.
Re-live the magic of our 2018 Home Builders Blitz (where we built three homes in one week) -  watch our time-lapse video from June and experience the whole week in just three minutes.

We CAN Build It
We're currently building several homes in Durham's historic Southside neighborhood (with more to come). For more on the partnership at 100 E. Enterprise, check out this recent blog post from The Bulls of Durham. Many thanks to our friends in the local Durham craft brewing community who said "We CAN Build It!" and are helping us build homes and hope in Southside Durham.

Habitat Success Stories

Lal is a Burmese refugee who came to Durham after stops in India and Thailand. Lal partnered with Habitat and the Durham Literacy Center to renovate a historic home in East Durham. “There is no more fear,” Lal said. “We won’t have to move again because the home belongs to us.”
